CHICAGO BUSINESSMAN WHO LOBBIED AGAINST REMOVAL OF SANCTIONS ON ZIMBABWE HAS DIED

A man in Chicago, Gregory C Turner who in 2015 was sentenced to 15 months in prison for lobbying American officials on behalf of Zimbabwe in an effort to get the sanctions against Zimbabwe lifted has died.
He was 81
C. Gregory Turner, 72, was found guilty by a federal jury of violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. In addition his co-defendant, Prince Asiel Ben Israel, 73, also of Chicago, who was sentenced to seven months in prison after pleading guilty to violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
Turner had relocated to Zimbabwe
The death of Turner was confirmed by a close friend.
